Answer:

This is called an oversized pit. Simply fill the void with pit resin, lay a section of curing tape across the resin and cure for 5 minutes. Scrape the resin with a razor blade until flat, then drill a hole through the cured resin and into the airspace below. At this point, you can proceed with the repair just as you would any other.
