Ultraviolet resistant 10cc size syringe for injecting windshield repair resin into rock chips or small cracks in laminated glass. This 10cc UV Resistant Syringe replaces many syringe type injectors. Disposable, dispensing polypropylene syringe blocks UV light to prevent spontaneous curing of windshield repair resin.

Curing Large Breaks in Laminated Glass

Large star and combination breaks present a number of challenges, but with a little extra care show the most dramatic cosmetic improvement upon completion.

One thing not to overlook is the fact that cracks may extend beyond the edges of a standard curing tab, which can cause a repair to fail. The problem is that even if the cracks are fill properly, they will not cure properly if not completely covered before curing.

Obviously, the solution is simple. Use multiple curing tabs, or strips of curing film to make sure every crack is completely covered. Run a little thin resin along the surface of filled cracks to help Curing Tabs stick and properly seal the surface of the crack. One drop every couple of inches is plenty if properly spread with an eye dropper or syringe.

The surface resin may cure in seconds. But, it is important to cure for a full 5 minutes. Ensuring the resin is cured all the way through. Remember, most windshield glass blocks a percentage of the UV rays that cure the resin. So reducing cure time may cause repair failure.

If the damage is wider or longer than the area covered by your UV light, be sure to move your light as many times as necessary to get a complete cure on every part of the break, curing for 5 minutes each time the light is moved. Long crack lights… Continue Reading

Brent:

Brent Deines was originally trained by a Novus Methodman in 1987 and is NWRA certified. He has extensive experience repairing windshields and restoring headlights in a variety of climates and conditions. Deines has owned several auto glass repair and replacement businesses in Montana and Oregon and is currently the President and CEO of Delta Kits where he helped develop the company’s headlight restoration program and started the company’s windshield repair training and certification program in 1995.

Korey:

Korey Gobin, Delta Kits sales manager, is NWRA certified and has been training individuals as well as large groups in the art of professional windshield repair and headlight restoration since 2008. Gobin is actively involved in the Repair of Laminated Automotive Glass Standard and in 2011 was awarded the Mobile Tech Windshield Repair Person of the Year. Korey serves on the ROLAGS committee and has traveled extensively throughout the USA, Canada, and Mexico to promote high-quality standards for windshield repair and headlight restoration. He is affectionately known by his customers as the “Go to Guy” for windshield repair.

Graham Watson, is one of the original Novus Technicians in the UK since 1988 and since then has been running a very successful windscreen repair service in the UK. In 2008 Graham was named Windshield Repair Person of the year at the Mobile Tech Expo, an award he is very proud of as it is voted for by his peers in the trade. For the past 10 years, Watson has been active training technicians for the repair industry and specializes in advanced training for techs with previous experience, during this time he has been lucky enough to work with people from many different countries.
