It’s Not What You Get; it’s What You Give!

Delta Kits strongly believes that it’s important to give back to the community in one way or another. The dictionary’s definition of giving is, “to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation” . It seems obvious what “giving” means, but sometimes the heart of giving is overlooked. The hardest part of giving is to do it without expecting anything in return. As a company Delta Kits gives to over sixteen charities, multiple times throughout each year, and is comprised of dedicated employees who believe they can help make a difference in the lives of many by providing their time and finances.

Some of us work with youth programs, work at the mission, go on service trips, and some give to charities such as Food for the Hungry, Knights of Columbus, Rhiza Education & Development, Living Water International and the Disabled American Veterans. Brent Deines, president of Delta Kits, strongly believes that his company can make a difference, not just as a windshield repair equipment manufacturer, but as a company that strives to help others succeed. For twenty eight years Delta Kits has stood by these principles and as a business has tried to lead by example in serving others.

Why do we believe giving is so important?

Jordan D. – “Ever since I was a little girl I have wondered why I was so lucky to have been born in the United States and to have been blessed with so much. I knew there were other kids just like me all over the world who were starving. The reality of their situation broke my heart, even at a young age. I give because I love people, and I believe that I was blessed with so much in order to share it with others who are less fortunate than I am. Love is an action; how am I supposed to show people that they are loved if I don’t act on it?”

Mindy B. – “I came from a family that didn’t have much in the way of money. But what they lacked in money they more than made up for in serving. Both my parent’s and grandparent’s had such a heart to serve others. They taught me at a young age what it means to give of yourself and your time. I also remember an instance as a young girl when my older cousin gave someone less fortunate the coat off her back. She didn’t have another coat and it was the middle of winter. She explained that she knew her needs would be met. I didn’t understand at the time what she meant, but I never forgot what she did.”

Korey G. – I heard these two quotes frequently while growing up in the city of Atlanta and they stuck with me forever:

“Not everybody can be famous but everybody can be great because greatness is determined by service… You only need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love.” – MLK

“Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.” – Deuteronomy 15:10

Bruce M. – “No matter how bad you think your life is, wake up each day and be thankful for what you have.  Someone somewhere is fighting just to survive. And when you stop giving, when you stop offering something to someone, it’s time to turn out the light.” – George Burns

Giving is something that we are all capable of, whether it is of time, money, or even just a smile to cheer someone up. Every day we can make a conscious effort to make someone’s day better. If we can work together to help others, we can make this world a better place for everyone!
